Filter Homebrew? Can you filter Homebrew for less than $20? Let’s find out!
We read and respond to our comments on our YouTube Channel, City Steading Brews. Recently, a commenter told us of a 1 micron filter that should IN THEORY remove yeast particles as they are larger than one micron. This idea intrigued us so we put it to the test! What did we find out? Watch this video to see the test in action and our conclusions.
To truly see if a one micron filter would filter out yeast which is 5-10 microns, we would have to test an active fermentation. The concept being that if the yeast were filtered out, then your brew would be stable. Due to the preliminary results of our video, we can not recommend this at this time.
