Passion Fruit Mead

Many of our viewers have requested a Passion Fruit Mead recipe. So, Derica got to growing some Passion Fruit and we made a mead from them.

What is passion fruit? Passion fruit is a vine best known for their almost otherworldly looking flowers. This plant is native to southern Brazil and grows really well for us here in Florida. The fruit is a pepo, a type of berry that is round to oval with either yellow or dark purple skin once mature.

We Made a Passion Fruit Mead with 101 Passion Fruits! 101 passion fruits, collected, cleaned, scooped, frozen and thawed… all in a mead. Watch the video to see how we made it step by step.

It’s been a whole year since we made this interesting beverage. Did it improve? Often, time will improve a mead or wine, but not always. We’ve seen it happen. Will this be one of those times? Only one way to find out!
